ABOUT MORGAN
Morgan Giosa is a visual artist and nature photographer from Windsor, Connecticut.
His vibrant, colorful acrylic and mixed media abstract expressionist paintings take influence from Bay Area visual artist Richard Diebenkorn and other preeminent abstract expressionists including Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollock, and Helen Frankenthaler. He studied abstract painting and art theory under fine artist Maurice Casas at the Farmington Valley Arts Center and has exhibited his paintings at galleries throughout Connecticut, including solo exhibits at the Buttonwood Tree in Middletown and Work_Space in Manchester, CT, Hygienic Art gallery in New London as part of their Salon des Independants program, Hartford ArtSpace Gallery in their We Will Not Be Erased group exhibit which featured the work of LGBTQIA+ artists from across New England, and in numerous group exhibits at the Windsor Art Center in his hometown.
As a self-taught nature photographer, Morgan relies primarily on his intuition to capture breathtaking images of landscapes and wildlife in his home state of Connecticut and on his travels up and down the east coast. He uses a Canon EOS DSLR camera and the open source application GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) for post-processing.
Recently, Morgan has begun to collaborate with the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, receiving grants as a Flutie Fellow as part of their STARS of the Spectrum program in order to further his ambitions as an artist.
